Q: What is Virgin Hair?

 

A: Virgin Hair is 100% unprocessed hair. Hair has not been colored, relaxed, dyed or any chemicals applied to alter the natural texture of the hair.

It is not unusual to find gray strands in natural brown colored hair. Note: Hair is in its natural state and applying colors or dyes will alter virgin hair and it is no longer unprocessed or virgin.

 

 

Q: How do I know if my hair is truly Virgin Hair?

 

A: Inspect your hair thoroughly. The hair should have color variations, it should not be evenly colored from the top to the bottom. The hair should gradually look thinner towards the ends and should have split ends because it has been obtained from its natural state.

If your hair is colored evenly from top to bottom and has the same thickness from top to bottom, it is unlikely that the hair is Virgin Hair.

 

Tips:

The Burn Test

Take a strand of your Virgin Hair, Using extreme caution burn hair strand over an open flame. Virgin Hair will give off a white smoke when burned. Synthetic hair will give off a black colored smoke and will melt hair.

 

Q: Why should I use Virgin Hair extensions?

 

A: Human hair has a cuticle layer which allows hair to maintain its sheen and polished look. The cuticle layer is damaged once hair has been processed. After processing, the cuticles begin to turn in the opposite direction causing friction that can lead to matting or tangling of the hair.  Virgin Unprocessed Hair should be tangle free with minimal shedding and no chemical smell. With proper care, Virgin Hair should last for a long period of time.

 

Q: Can I dye my bundles?

 

A: Yes, bundles can be dyed and colored. If you are unsure about how to properly dye or color your bundles, please contact a professional.

 

Q: How should I wash and clean my bundles?

 

A: Apply shampoo of your choice. Wash bundles in warm water cleaning in a downward direction. Rinse thoroughly. Apply Conditioner of your choice for 5-10 minutes and rinse thoroughly. Allow hair to air dry before intallation.

 

Q: Can I apply heat to my bundles?

 

A: Yes, you may apply heat to your bundles. Temperatures of 450 degrees or less are recommended.

 

Q: How long will my bundles last?

 

A: Bundles can potentially last for 1-2 years with proper care.

 

Q: What is the difference between the Luxury Collection and the Premium Collection bundles?

 

A: Our Luxury Collection features our 10A grade bundles. Our Premium Collection features our 7A grade bundles. Both collections offer a variety of hair types and textures.

 

Q: What is a "Hair Type"?

 

A: A hair type is the origin of the hair collected by donors. (e.g. Brazilian, Peruvian and Cambodian etc;

 

Q: What is a "Hair Texture"?

 

A: A hair texture is also referred to as the hair pattern (e.g. Straight, Body Wave or Curly.

 

Q: How long will it take to recieve my order?

 

A: Standard shipping time is 3-7 Businnes days and do not include weekends or holidays. Orders are shipped via USPS. There is a 1-2 day processing time on all online orders. Once your order has begun processing, you will receive an email upating the status of your order. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an updated status email with an attatched tracking number. The standard shipping time begins once your order has been shipped. AlterEgo Virgin Hair Boutique cannot be responsible for delays by a third party courier. A: For the safety of both our company and customers, all sales are final and cannot be returned due to COVID-19 safety precautions. Please review your order carefully before purchasing. There will be a 24 hour grace period to contact customer support if you feel you have made an error placing your order. Once items are shipped, they cannot be returned.
